ubuntu source-o-matic

ubuntu logo Some days ago, browsing the faves of a friend of mine in the Ma.Gnolia social bookmarking network I’ve discovered the existence of the Ubuntu sources.list generator.

The page is available here: http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic.

It works like the Easy-URPMI page from Mandriva Linux.
You have to select the ubuntu release you want to configure, it’s architecture (i386, ppc, amd64) and then select if you want to use debs, source debs, and packages that come only from Ubuntu staff or also from community.

Finally you confirm your choice and you’ll get a brand new list.
One of the nicest thing you can configure is the location you are coming from, so the generator will look the available location nearby and use it for the generation, a simple version of the yum “proximity” repository chooser capabilities implemented in CentOS.
